Mikro Primary School (2016 to 2024)

It has been an absolute joy and privilege to be part of Mikro Primary School since our arrival in the beautiful Western Cape over 8 years ago!

When my wife and I arrived eight years ago the school only had two u/13 boys and girls teams, and during the time that we've been involved with tennis coaching at Mikro, God has blessed us with so many wonderful children and parents over the years.

Apart from helping Annerine coach many boys and girls from grade R to 7, I have been tasked with developing the tennis culture at Mikro by coaching the various tennis teams of the school, and by God's grace and providence the u/11 boys and girls teams have grown exponentially in the past eight years.

When Annerine and I left, there were six u/11 boys teams, and four u/11 girls teams that were chosen after the tennis trials ended in the 4th term last year.

I am also thankful for all the wonderful teachers that I worked with in developing the mini-tennis from grade R to 3 over the past several years.

What an amazing journey it has been! To leave such a wonderful legacy behind is truly exhilirating, but at the same time very humbling as we give God all the glory and honour for the talents and gifts that He has given us, to enable us to help transform the lives of so many children over the past fifteen years.

The end of 2024 marked our eighth and last year in partnership with Mikro Primary School and we are excited about the new season as we will be coaching at Kuils River Tennis Club as well as a local Primary school within the Western Cape region that we will make known as soon as possible.

Kuils River Tennis Club

Due to our tennis contract having expired at Mikro Primary School at the end of 2024, our Academy will be coaching full-time at Kuils River Tennis Club from this year onwards.

As always, we will offer various private, group and squad lessons for pupils from grade R to 7. Our tennis lessons are offered throughout the year.

As our new base of operations, we will continue to provide a high quality of tennis coaching to the community of Kuils River, and with more tennis courts at our disposal, we will have a New Tournament, specifically designed for members of our Academy, apart from our annual Parent & Child Doubles Tournament, that we'll be able to host as well.

New Primary School Partnership (T.B.C)

As the head coach for the new Primary School, I have been given the responsibility to coach the school's various boys and girls league teams, as well as develop the basic tennis skills of those between grades 4 and 7 who wish to try tennis out as a sport.

For the grades R, 1, 2 & 3 pupils,  mini-tennis lessons will be provided by the teachers of the school, to help develop the basic to advanced mini-tennis skills of those who participate in these lessons weekly.

The grade 3 pupils can also look forward to competing in their very own Mini-Tennis Championships, which are held at the beginning of the 4th term each year.

We're looking forward to the new partnership we will enter into with this new primary school and can only give God all the glory for the great things that God has done in the past, is still doing and will continue to do for us in the future!
